Anderson, 15, is a second year middle school student at the INED School. He comes from a community called La Cumbre where he attends school every morning with homework assigned for the afternoons. He intends to study medicine at high school because he wants to help others in need. In 2019 he had a serious accident at home and lost his right eye and damaged two fingers of his right hand which lost mobility. Out of this was born a determination to help others in need of medical treatment.
Anderson is the youngest of six children. Two of his older brothers support the family by making bricks locally. In his free time Anderson is keen on sports but his hope is that he will be able to continue studying. His accident means that he will never be able to do heavy work (such as working in the vegetable fields) and he is eager to study, have a profession and a great job that will allow him to help his family. He has been part of the Xela Aid Computer Program for 2 years.
