Art Ambassador Adventure Guatemala City, Sumpango, San Martín Chiquito, Lake Atitlán with Grand Tikal and Flores Island Option

Art Ambassador for a Coloful World presents this exciting retreat for artists, photographers and people who appreciate art to travel and learn award-winning plein air artists Kevin Macpherson and Lori Putnam. Join us for a deeply enriching art and cultural experience, including art projects where you’ll mentor Mayan children. You’ll go behind the scenes to experience the colorful lives of the modern Maya across various regions, take part in the spectacle of the internationally known Day of the Dead Sumpango Kite Festival, and if you choose, travel back in time to experience, photograph and paint Grand Tikal—the Jewel of the Yucatan. Your journey will be rife with beautiful and varied landscapes and architecture on this bucket-list adventure. Take thousands of pictures for painting reference for years to come! Your expert guides will introduce you to or welcome you back to some of Guatemala’s most beautiful places while you grow your expertise through mentoring and in-depth critique sessions.

Grand Tikal and Flores Island Add-On - For the extra adventurous, go on with us to discover, photograph, sketch and paint the stunning ruins at Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the comfort of the Jungle Lodge—the Park’s top accommodation. We'll end our journey on colorful, quaint and walkable Flores Island.
