Emergency Relief - You can help when someone needs it the most

FOOD SECURITY • FOSTERING • SHOES • DISASTER RELIEF

A home and her very own bed for Carolina, who’s adobe house collapsed. It was made possible by supporters like you!

Xela AID learned long ago that “give away” aid doesn’t promote long-term, substantive change. That’s why we focus on empowering self-reliance through education, job training and improving health. But as we all know, stuff happens. And in Guatemala, life’s little emergencies can be BIG emergencies, and life-threatening. Each month, we learn about families who haven’t eaten for awhile—sometimes for days. A child might have been abandoned, and needs a place to live. Someone might come to our clinic who is deathly ill, and simply cannot pay. A family is suffering from protein deficiency, and a few chickens (and some training on keeping them) can change that. Or a storm or earthquake might have destroyed a house and a family needs a place to stay for a few days. All these things happen, and with some frequency. That’s why Xela AID keeps an emergency fund on hand —to respond to tragic and unforeseen circumstances and to help get people back on their feet.

You can help, and a little will go a long way!

$10 = Food for a family of five for three days.
$20 = Four warm blankets.
$50 = Five pairs of hard-souled shoes to protect little feet.
$100 = Rent for a displaced family for a month.

Set up a reoccurring payment of just $10 or more per month so we can best plan the use of our Emergency Fund, or make a one-time donation (we won’t turn that down) and make a BIG difference in the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people!
